Nashville, Tenn. – December 21, 2011 – While Balfour Resource Group’s parent company, Balfour Beatty Construction, is working on building the new facility at Forest Park Medical Center at Frisco, they introduced the client to Balfour Resource Group and the additional services that BRG provides.

“As part of our sustainability mission, we are always looking for ways to cross-sell our services,” said Robert Feille, senior project manager. “When the opportunity to highlight BRG’s services came about, we jumped at the chance to make the introduction.”

Nicholas Shelton, Senior Manager, Equipment Planning for BRG, was brought in to provide assistance and expertise that the construction team could not provide.

Balfour Resource Group will be providing medical equipment planning and procurement services for the $60 million project that includes a four-story specialty surgical hospital with 30 patient rooms and 14 VIP patient rooms. The project also includes a 100,000-square-foot medical office building.

“Being able to work with Robert and the rest of the team over at Forest Park is a great opportunity and a great example of cross-selling our service lines and how this provides value to both the client as well as our BBC team,” said Shelton. “By taking on this job which is already under construction we have been able to highlight BRG’s professionalism and value which has led to our award of Forest Park at Southlake, which to me is the ultimate win strategy.

In addition to the Frisco location, BRG has been contracted to work on the new Forest Park Medical Center at Southlake as well. This facility is a surgical specialty hospital containing 12 operating rooms, two endoscopic procedure rooms, 38 private patient beds, 10 VIP patient rooms, six ICU beds, as well as imaging diagnostics, laboratory, and an emergency department.

Currently, BRG is providing medical equipment planning at the Iowa River Landing location and with this new contract will continue to assist the staff and administrators in their goal to open and receive patients in August 2012. The new ambulatory care clinic will be approximately 167,000 square feet in Coralville, Iowa, and the design of the building is flexible, allowing for adaptation as needs of healthcare services change and grow.

The new Iowa River Landing facility will help mitigate congestion and parking at the main hospital. The University of Iowa’s plan is to move multiple programs and administrative functions to this off campus location making room for on-campus growth and facility upgrades.
